1. Job Title: Admin and Logistics Officer

Location: Maiduguri, Borno

Role Purpose

  • The purpose of this role is to provide administrative and logistical support for the Maiduguri field office in line with policies of Plan International Nigeria, donor requirements and Nigerian laws.
  • The post holder will be supervised by the Humanitarian Admin and Logistics Advisor and expected to work very closely with other members of the programme team and particularly the Grants and finance officer.

Dimensions of Role:

  • The post holder will contribute to the effective administration and logistics coordination in Maiduguri office, ensuring the interface between operations and programme team members.
  • The post holder will support development of Plan Internationals implementing partners and staff capacity building. The post holder will supervise the Admin Assistant.

Key Roles/Responsibbilities

  • Provide day-to-day support to staff in general office operations and identify future needs
  • Ensure timely welcome services, hotel and flights bookings and other support services for staff and visitors
  • Coordinate and management movement register for all staff and visitors in the Maiduguri office
  • Effective management of the guest house
  • Prepare and file documents for signature and/or action, as necessary and ensure that that proper filing systems are in place for the office
  • Coordinates the planning and organization of meetings and workshops
  • Ensure that vehicles and all equipment are in good conditions and liaise with the Humanitarian Admin and Logistics Advisor about necessary repairs and improvements as necessary
  • Arrange for the repair and maintenance of office/ guest house equipment and machinery to ensure that staff works effectively without any disruptions.
  • Ensures that the SAP system is used to capture all necessary activities as required.

Technical Expertise, Skills and Knowledge
Essential:

  • A degree in Business/Public Administration or related field.
  • At least 2 -4 years of experience working in administration and logistics generalist role in a
  • Experience in use of SAP
  • Fluency in English with excellent writing and speaking skills is required.
  • Excellent and demonstrable experience in procurement processes and logistics management.
  • Demonstrable experience in office management and staff coordination.
  • Excellent writing and speaking in English language
  • Knowledge and understanding of Nigeria’s policy environment
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including good listening skills, influencing, negotiation and coaching
  • Capacity to build and maintain relationships and to work effectively in a multicultural and multi-ethnic environment respecting diversity.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

2. Job Title: Project Coordinator – EU

Location: Maiduguri, Borno

Role Purpose

  • The purpose of this role is to coordinate the EU project activities in Borno state in North Eastern Nigeria. (MMC, Jere, Konduga, Gwoza).

Dimension of Role:

  • Communicates within Plan International Nigeria and with partners and related government institutions.
  • The post holder will coordinate the implementation of the EU project and also document lessons learnt, support assessments and monitoring and evaluation of the Education in Emergencies components of Plan International’s emergency response.
  • He/she is responsible for assessment, response analysis, design, capacity building.
  • The post holder will also contribute towards the capacity building of Plan Internationals implementing partners.

Key Roles/Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the EU consortium Lead, the project coordinator will support the implementation of EU project.
  • Manage EU project implementation in the Plan
  • Coordinate with Key Local government authorities.
  • Monitor the EU project implementation.
  • Manage the field project team
  • Ensure timely submission of field project reports to the EU project consortium lead.
  • With support from Community Engagement Officer mobilize and sensitize community on the new project
  • Ensure timely procurement of all project items.
  • Represent Plan International at the Local government level.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree or equivalent in Education, Social Science, Social Work, Psychology, or related fields
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience Education in Emergencies
  • Experience working in emergency settings
  • Good knowledge and understanding of DO NO HARM principles and established international child protection standards (especially UNCRC)
  • Experience with participatory approaches to education, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, or other related area.
  • Experience working with IDPs, refugees and other vulnerable populations (ideal)
  • Experience in mobile EiE unit’s desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience directly providing services to children at risk and victims of abuse, exploitation and violence

  • Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility

3. Job Title: Education in Emergencies Specialist

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Type of Role: 1 Year Fixed Term Contract. This is an unaccompanied position.
Reports to: Emergency Response Manager

 

Do you have what it takes?

  • In order to succeed in this challenging role you will need demonstrable experience working in Education in Emergency or with children at risk in fragile and challenging environments
  • Demonstrated experience in leading assessment activities and of designing, managing, monitoring and evaluating education programs in emergencies for international NGOs.
  • Experience in applying relevant interagency humanitarian frameworks and standards in education in emergencies (for example INEE Minimum Standards)
  • Experience of and commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability
  • Experience of representation, including Cluster coordination, and ability to represent Plan International Niger effectively in external forums.
  • Experience of representation and negotiation, as well as preparing successful funding proposals for donors and government, with a focus on gender issues.
  • Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports
  • Experience in complex decision making and working in a multi-disciplinary, multi-national team under difficult circumstances.

Salary

  • Circa USD50,000.00 USD per annum plus benefits
